 English Letters  (27-12-2013)

Dear Andy,

2014 is almost here!
Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions?
I wrote my list, and I wanted to share them with you!
My first and most important resolution is to enjoy each day.
I’m always so stressed with school and studying.
I often feel like a robot because I’m not really living.
I just go through the motions: wake up, go to school, attend academy, study, sleep, and repeat.
Even though my routine is repetitive, I will try and enjoy my life next year.
My second resolution is to be more thankful.
When I’m stressed out, I think my life is too tough and unfair.
But I have to remember that I have a loving family, a house to come home to, and I get three delicious meals a day.
There are a lot of people in this world who don’t have these things.
My last resolution is to be more active.
I want to exercise more and live a healthier lifestyle.
What are your resolutions, Andy?

Love, Mina

Dear Mina,

Your resolutions are great.
I really hope you can keep them all next year.
After I read your letter, I decided to write my own resolutions.
Here they are:
First, I want to put more effort into everything I do.
I try to give my best effort in everything I do.
But sometimes, I get lazy or I don’t have enough time.
I respect my dad a lot because whatever he does, he always gives 100 percent.
It’s such an admirable quality, and I want to develop this habit.
Second, I want to give back to the community.
My mom is always encouraging me to volunteer.
I do occasionally, but next year, I want to spend more time helping out people in need.
My last resolution is to be a good son and brother.
What do you think of my resolutions?
I hope you have a Happy New Year!

Love, Andy
